How do I choose the right size?

Always choose the size based on your own judgment. Check the size chart, compare it with your dog’s measurements, and also take your dog’s body structure and musculature into consideration. Some breeds have a slimmer body type, while others may have the same weight as a size S dog but be much more muscular. For example, although both a Whippet and a French Bulldog may fall into the S category, the products will fit and look different on each of them.

Is the material comfortable to the touch?

The special straps we use are custom-made exclusively for the CALIDU brand. They are pleasant to the touch, comfortable to wear, do not burn your hands, and are highly resistant to pulling forces — comparable to a car seat belt.
However, some dogs may be sensitive to stitched seams.

How should I clean and care for the products?

If the product gets dirty, you can hand wash it using running water, soap, and a sponge or cloth. At your own discretion and responsibility, the product may also be machine washed. In that case, we recommend using the lowest temperature setting, the lowest spin cycle, and protecting the product by placing it in a laundry mesh bag or a pillowcase.
Always let the product air dry naturally and never expose it to direct sunlight while drying.

Are the plastic buckles durable enough?

We use one of the most durable types of plastic buckles available, specifically designed to be frost-resistant. These buckles are reliable both during summer activities and winter conditions, even in temperatures as low as -20°C (-4°F).
Petra chose plastic buckles instead of metal ones because metal components are often too heavy for smaller breeds and can also be noisier. The unpleasant jingling sound may bother some dogs.

How durable are the metal components?

Please note that black metal components are prone to scratches and will naturally show signs of wear over time and with regular use. Despite this, we decided to keep all components in black because it creates a much more aesthetically pleasing overall appearance compared to mixing black accessories with silver hardware.

Do you offer custom-made adjustments?

If none of the standard sizes fit your dog properly, most of our products can be custom adjusted for an additional fee. Please contact us by e-mail for custom modifications.
Please note that products customized to your requirements are not covered by the statutory 14-day return policy without reason.

What types of dogs are CALIDU products suitable for?

Our products are suitable for small, medium, and larger dog breeds. Thanks to adjustable elements and multiple size options, owners of tiny dogs as well as stronger and more muscular breeds can find a suitable fit. We design our products with a focus on comfort, safety, and everyday use.

Are the harnesses suitable for puppies?

Yes, most of our harnesses are also suitable for puppies. However, please keep in mind that puppies grow quickly, so it is important to adjust the size correctly or choose a version with a wider adjustment range.

How should I measure my dog before ordering?

Before choosing a size, we recommend measuring your dog’s neck and chest circumference using a soft measuring tape. Compare the measurements with the size chart provided for the product. When purchasing a harness, always measure your dog according to the instructions shown in the size chart.

Are the products suitable for everyday use?

Yes, CALIDU products are designed for everyday wear and regular walks. We use durable materials and strong components that can withstand normal strain during active movement.

Are the products made in the Czech Republic?

Yes, CALIDU products are made in the Czech Republic. Each piece is created with attention to quality craftsmanship, detail, and functionality.

How long does shipping take?

We always try to ship orders as quickly as possible. Shipping times may vary depending on product availability and any custom adjustments requested. Current delivery information can always be found on the product page, or we can provide it via e-mail.

Do you offer custom products for atypical dog breeds?

Yes, we also offer custom adjustments for atypical or specifically built dogs. Every dog is different, and we are happy to help find the best possible solution to ensure the product fits comfortably and correctly.

Are the products safe for active dogs?

When manufacturing our products, we place great emphasis on strong stitching, durable materials, and safe everyday use. Our products are suitable for active dogs as well, but it is important to choose the correct size and regularly inspect the product for normal wear and tear.

Can the products come into contact with water?

Yes, the products can handle normal contact with water and outdoor use. However, after getting wet, we recommend allowing the product to air dry naturally and avoiding prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight.

What is the difference between a harness and a collar?

A collar is suitable for carrying identification tags or for short handling of a dog. A harness distributes pulling force more evenly across the dog’s body, making it more comfortable for longer walks, sports activities, or dogs that tend to pull more strongly.

How do I know if the harness fits correctly?

A properly fitting harness should not restrict the dog’s movement, press uncomfortably, or be too loose. Approximately two fingers should fit between the harness and the dog’s body. It is also important to observe the movement around the shoulders and armpits.

What should I do if the selected size does not fit?

If the size does not fit properly, please contact us as soon as possible via e-mail. We will gladly help you with an exchange or choosing a more suitable size based on your dog’s specific measurements.x

Why are CALIDU products produced in limited quantities?

We value quality, careful craftsmanship, and an individual approach. That is why our products are not mass-produced but instead created in smaller batches with a strong focus on detail and quality control.
